1. Scope
This policy covers https://btlearninglab.com (our marketing site) and https://app.btlearninglab.com (the training platform). Both are operated by BehaviorChain LLC. Because they share a root domain, some cookies set on one may be readable by the other.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you enroll, we collect your name, email address, password credentials, and the legal name and BACB ID needed for your training certificate. If you contact us through the form on this site, we collect your name, email address, organization, subject, and message.
Training activity. As you work through the course, the platform records your progress through each curriculum section, the hours and calendar days you accrue, your responses to practice questions and mock exams, your scores, and your completion status and certificate.
Payment information. Purchases are handled by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. They receive your card details directly. We do not collect or store your full card number. We receive a record of the transaction, such as the amount, the date, and the last four digits of the card.
Technical information. Our servers record your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page, and timestamps. If you accept optional cookies, Google Analytics and Google Ads collect similar information about how you use the site and which ad brought you here. Section 6 lists exactly what those set. Decline them and neither runs.
3. How we use information
- To deliver the training, track your progress, and issue your certificate.
- To verify that training requirements have actually been met, including the 5-day minimum and the 180-day limit.
- To process payments and provide receipts.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To secure the Services, detect fraud or account sharing, and enforce our terms.
- To improve the curriculum and the product, using aggregated or de-identified data where practical.
- To send you service messages about your enrollment. Marketing email, if we send any, always includes an unsubscribe link.
4. If your employer or supervisor enrolled you
When an organization purchases your seat, its administrators and supervisors can see your enrollment status, your progress through the curriculum, the hours and days you have accrued, your assessment and mock exam results, and your completion status and certificate.
We share that information with the organization because it is the reason they purchased the seat, and because a Responsible Trainer must be able to document each trainee’s training. If you do not want your employer to receive this information, enroll with an individual seat instead. The organization’s own handling of your information is governed by its privacy practices, not ours.
7. How long we keep information
Training records are subject to a retention requirement: the Responsible Trainer must maintain documentation of each training, including attendees, partial completions, and dates, for a minimum of 7 years. We therefore retain training records, completion data, and certificates for at least that long, even if you close your account.
Continuing education records follow a separate, shorter schedule. As an Authorized Continuing Education provider we keep documentation of the credit we award, meaning who earned it, for which course, in which category, and on what date, for at least three years from the date of the event, and we must make those records available to the BACB on request. Your certificate also stays available to download from your account for at least that long. Because that record is the proof your credit was earned, we keep it whether or not your account stays open, and we cannot delete it on request.
Account and billing records are kept as long as needed for the account and for tax and accounting obligations. Contact form messages are delivered to us by email and retained in our mailbox. Technical logs are kept for a shorter period.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of certain sharing, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us at support@behaviorchainllc.com. We may need to verify your identity first. Note that we cannot delete training records we are required to retain, and deleting your account does not withdraw a certificate already issued.
California residents. BehaviorChain LLC is based in California, United States. You have the rights described above, and specifically: we do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because the only advertising and analytics cookies we set require your consent first, declining them is how you opt out, and we honor a Global Privacy Control signal the same way.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
10. Children
The Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us at support@behaviorchainllc.com and we will delete it.
11. Where we operate
We operate in the United States, and your information is processed and stored there. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Each version carries a version identifier and an effective date, shown at the top of this page. If we make a material change, we will give notice through the Services or by email before it takes effect.
13. Contact
Privacy questions can go to support@behaviorchainllc.com or through our contact form. BehaviorChain LLC does business in California, United States. Your use of the Services is also governed by our Terms of Service.
